Exhibition | Women of Distinction | National Trust of Australia (NSW) | 31 August 2019 – 16 August 2020
A new exhibition in the upstairs rooms of Old Government House brings together items from the National Trust (NSW)’s collections and those on loan from other sources, to provide new insights into the women who lived in, worked at, and influenced this nationally significant property throughout its decades of change.

Talk | Alasdair McGregor, “Frank Hurley, a Photographer’s Life” | 5 October 2019
We are excited to announce that our member organisation, The City of Canada Bay Museum is hosting a talk by Alasdair McGregor on “Frank Hurley, a Photographer’s Life”. Frank Hurley was once a household name in Australia. Now most famous for his photographs of the Mawson and Shackleton (Endurance) Antarctic expeditions.

Breakfast | National Biography Award panel and prize winner announcement | 12 August 2019
The State Library of NSW is hosting a special champagne breakfast to celebrate the awarding of the $25,000 prize. A panel discussion with this year’s shortlisted authors will be led by Caroline Baum, before the prize winner is announced.

Workshop | Motherhood and Mothering Stories – 4 July 2019
A/Prof Tanya Evans will be holding a workshop on the discoveries that have been made about motherhood and mothering practices by family historians at North Sydney Council’s Stanton Library.
