Frequently asked questions (Members)

What is the difference between one-off payment and subscription?

A one-off payment is what a member selects if they just want to pay for membership for one year, without auto renewal.  Subscription is what a member selects if they want to auto-subscribe for membership until further notice.

Members can cancel recurring payments from their member profile.  To do so, they click the Invoices and payments tab in their profile then click Stop recurring payments button beside the membership renewal transaction. 

An HCNSW Membership Management system site administrator can also cancel a recurring payment on behalf of the member, either from the back end of the system, or from their payment system account (ie, Stripe).

If a member has recurring payments, suspending the member will automatically stop the recurring payments on the former member’s card.

Does the HCNSW keep my credit card details in their files?

The HCNSW doesn’t keep credit card details in its own files.  All payments are made via Stripe, a secure online payment portal.  They are then transferred automatically to the HCNSW Bank Account.

I have subscribed, but what happens if my credit card expires?

Our payment portal, Stripe, will send an automated email to you, telling you that your credit card details have expired and need updating.  You then need to do that yourself via the link they send you.
