The Federation of Australian Historical Societies have announced the campaign to save the Federation has been successful. Last week it was announced that the Commonwealth Government would no longer be supporting the FAHS, a society which represents 100,000 members and 1000 community/volunteer historical and heritage societies and museums across Australia.
After a number of letters, emails and petitions, the Hon Josh Frydenberg MP has found a way to provide $80,000 to the FAHS. It is unclear at this stage whether this amount is provided for one year or continuous over three years, and so the FAHS will update their members when more information is available.
