GLAMcity is a new weekly half hour radio show and podcast showcasing what’s on for history in Sydney connected with Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums (GLAM). You can listen live on Monday’s at 7pm on 2SER 107.3FM or download the weekly episode via iTunes or whooshkaa.

GLAMcity Host and the Director for the UTS Centre of Public History Tamson Pietsch said:

GLAM institutions have knowledge as their mission – they are homes to amazing stories about who we are, where we come from and who we want to be. Anna and I both wanted to give those stories a greater audience as well as talk to some of the people behind the scenes whose job it is to tell them.

Historian and host Anna Clark says the Centre for Public History has chosen to tell these stories through audio as it’s an exciting and connecting medium:

I love the intimacy of radio – the way it is a voice, whispering in your ear and drawing you into conversation and getting you to use your imagination. I love the way you can listen to it while you are on the train or doing the dishes, and that it has the capacity to take you far away.
