The 400th Anniversary of Dirk Hartog’s Landing of Australia

This Saturday, the Fairfield City Museum & Gallery are opening their latest exhibition: Why Didn’t the Dutch Claim Australia? The exhibition in the Museum’s hallway features 20 full-scale replica maps which highlight the role that world renowned Dutch navigator Dirk Hartog played in exploring and recording the western coastline of Australia in the 17th century. The exhibition will also feature guest speaker Consul General Willem Cosjin.

Celebrate all things Dutch after the exhibition opening with entertainment, traditional Dutch street food, games, arts and crafts, and more.

When: Saturday 1 October 2016, 1:00-4:00pm (exhibition opening)
