The General Council

The election of the members to the General Council is set out in the Objects and Rules of the organisation. The General Council is elected bi-annually by the HCNSW’s membership. The General Council is comprised of 10 members, 10 of whom will be elected by the corporate and individual membership with priority given to Indigenous members and representatives of Aboriginal organisational members of the association. The Election

The election for the 2025 – 2027 General Council is by nomination followed by a ballot vote at the Annual General Meeting. The call for nominations will take place from 1st April – 19 May 2025. Electronic voting will take place on Tuesday, 27 May 2025 at the Annual General Meeting. If the same number of nominations are received as there are positions, a vote will not be held. 

Announcement of Election Results

The election results will be announced at the Annual General Meeting 2025. This meeting will be taking place on Tuesday 27 May, 2025 from 5:00 – 6:30 pm via Zoom

Nominations    

  • will be accepted by email using a nomination form (linked on this page);
  • evidence must be provided via copies of emails that seconder & candidate have supported this nomination.  These will be accepted in lieu of written or electronic signatures;
  • Candidate, Proposer and Seconder must be current members of the HCNSW;
  • must include the written consent of the candidate who is a member of the HCNSW
  • must include a short (1-2 paragraphs) biog of the candidate for distribution to members before voting.
