Join the Australian Garden History Society for a guided ‘walk and talk’ led by Joy Bryan through the Swain Garden on Sunday 15 April at 2pm. This walk and talk aims to raise awareness of the generosity of people who donate gardens to the public in
perpetuity and the many volunteers who maintain them.
The Swain garden was bequeathed by Mr Arthur (Mick) Newling Swain to the National Trust in 1973 as he hoped his beloved gardens would benefit the community. The garden was then given to Ku-ring-gai Council in 1982 and are managed as community land by the Council and supported by the Friends of Swain Gardens, a group of dedicated volunteers. This guided walk will be led by Mr Swaines daughter, Joy Bryan.
