Bayside Libraries and the Botany Historical Trust invite you to a talk on Saturday 4 May for the Australian Heritage Festival.
When the Spanish Flu pandemic appeared towards the end of World War I, it killed more than 50 million people worldwide. At home, in Botany and Mascot, local communities answered the call to serve and protect once more. Community History Librarian, Jenny MacRitchie will talk about the local impact of the pandemic in 1919 – the inoculations, casualties and the public health measures introduced to keep residents safe.
