Join the Blue Mountains Historical Society and Mountain’s historian, John Low, on Saturday 9 November as they launch Keith Painter’s latest book | ‘Fifty Blue Mountains Openings: Tracks, Look Outs, Monuments… and a few surprises’.

About Keith Painter |

Keith Painter has lived in the Blue Mountains and Bathurst for almost fifty years. He is the author and publisher of the Pocket Pal Blue Mountains Bush Walking guides, which have introduced many people to the tracks developed for day walkers throughout the mountains.

Keith has also written a number of books focusing on local history, including “The Chert Bubble” and “Padley of the Pedestal”. This new book, “Fifty Blue Mountains Openings –Tracks, Lookouts, Monuments …and a few surprises” examines 50 significant Blue Mountains events and ceremonies and includes over 280 illustrations. It describes the people who took part, the documented records as well as current views of the events. Some historic photos in the book have never been published before.
