Are you a researcher or a library assistant looking for an exciting casual opportunity? The Parramatta Heritage and Visitor Information Centre is looking for individuals on a casual basis across the archives, library and museum fields to promote our services and create culturally enlightening experiences for our multicultural communities.

This position is responsible for the provision of research and information services in the areas of local history, genealogy, cultural collections and the broader Parramatta culture. This position is casual and may include weekend work, as rostered.

Essential criteria:

• Recognised technician’s qualification in Information Science / Librarianship or other relevant qualification
• Should be eligible for technician membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA)
• Experience in a public, museum, or research library environment particularly in the area of customer service, and reference and referral in the fields of local studies, cultural heritage, and/or genealogy, and/or museum collections.

Salary range: This position is Grade 6 with hourly rate of $33.84 plus 25% casual loading
