  • Do you have experience in museum exhibition research and have a passion for Australian military history?

The Anzac Memorial Building, located in Hyde Park South, is NSW’s principal war memorial. In 2014 the NSW Government announced funding support for a major new initiative for education and interpretation facilities and a water cascade to be built at the Memorial as the key legacy project for the Centenary of Anzac period – to be completed by Remembrance Day 2018.

This role provides a rare opportunity for a dedicated individual to assist in the research, documentation and interpretation of the Centenary Project exhibitions and content at the Anzac Memorial, ensuring optimal internal and external access to the Anzac Memorial collection.

As the Exhibitions Research Officer you will conduct supervised research of external collections for potential exhibition and interpretive content, including primary resources of National, State and Regional institutions and participate in associated projects and programs. You will document exhibitions and collection donations, loans and acquisitions, including cataloguing, image capture and data entry, as well as upload content on the Memorial’s web site and develop content for exhibition interactives. In addition you will participate in exhibition development and assist with the implementation of the Anzac Memorial’s collections policies and collection based information systems.

To be successful in this role you must have sound experience in museum exhibition research and the development of content for information communication technologies. You will have a thorough knowledge of military and Australian history and its interpretation.
