The State Library of NSW is seeking an ongoing full-time Senior Curator to work in their Research and Discovery Branch.
About the Role: As a recognised curatorial expert, provide leadership and expert advice in the development, management, discovery and interpretation of the Library’s collections, including the Mitchell and Dixson Collections, to meet the State Library’s strategic and corporate goals.
Essential Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and significant experience in the acquisition, interpretation and management of large, complex or significant collections, across a range of formats.
- Highly developed knowledge of Australian history, society and culture, excellent research and interpretation skills; and in depth understanding of research methodologies and the research process.
- Active engagement in emerging issues in the cultural sector, and trends in information technology and collection discovery and how these trends and issues impact on collection development, description, interpretation and access.
