Entries are now open for the State Library of NSW’s $10,000 Russell Prize for Humour Writing and the $25,000 National Biography Award 2017.

The Russell Prize for Humour Writing is a biennial prize, established at the bequest of Peter Wentworth Russell, awarded to the best book of humour writing by an Australian author published in the previous two years.

The National Biography Award is Australia’s richest prize for biographical writing and memoir, with $1,000 awarded for each shortlisted author. It is administered and presented by the State Library of NSW on behalf of the Award’s benefactor Mr Michael Crouch AO.

Entries for both awards close Friday 3 February 2017.
