The City of Sydney Historical Association invites you to join them for their April guest lecture by historian John Lanser who will tell the story of Sydney’s most famous shipwreck.

The Dunbar and its crew were shipwrecked on the night of 20 August 1857 off Port Jackson. All sixty-three passengers and all but one of the fifty-nine crew perished, but it was not until the next morning that the bodies and the wreckage were sighted floating in the harbour. Join Lanser as he sheds light on this interesting tale and charts the history of this maritime disaster.
