Historian and History Council of NSW member Ron Ringer has recently published a history of St Jude’s Church in Randwick, Summoned by Bells, which explores the ministry and history of St Jude’s from 1865 to 2015. From the dispossession of local Indigenous communities by European settlers, through the development of the Randwick community, the city of Sydney and the Australian nation more broadly, Summoned by Bells chronicles 165 years of parish history with the quirks, details and controversies of those who lived and created it.
