The NSW Government and the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences (MAAS) have announced plans to build a new museum in Parramatta. This announcement comes following a statement released by Arts Minister, The Hon Don Harwin, on 19 April 2017, which noted the government would commence ‘public consultation on plans for the new Powerhouse Museum at Parramatta’ and that there may be ‘some Powerhouse presence’ retained ‘at the current site in Ultimo’.
